Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Tony Gregory

Question:

527 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health and Children if an appropriate residential placement was obtained for a person (details supplied) with multiple disabilities. [19378/00]

The provision of services to persons with an intellectual disability and those with autism in the Kilbarrack area is the responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. I understand that the person concerned was admitted to Sunbeam House services on 12 September 2000 as a residential placement. This service will address his individual needs and provide oppor tunities to develop his skills. It will also enable him to access social and recreational activities.
