Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John Perry

Question:

529 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the inadequate facilities that exist in the mortuary in Sligo General Hospital for pathologists and staff; when the facility will be upgraded; the amounts of moneys allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19389/00]

The provision of hospital services in Sligo General Hospital is the statutory responsibility of the North Western Health Board in the first instance. However, I understand from the board that a development control plan for Sligo General Hospital is currently being finalised and will include the mortuary facilities. The board will address this issue in the context of the national development plan.
