Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

574 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay within the SEHB in providing care and medical attention in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow who has very poor eyesight and has a cataract problem; and when a date can be set for examination and treatment. [19942/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Carlow in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
