Question:

664 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of derelict site orders for County Mayo awaiting ministerial approval and signature for compulsory purchase orders, giving details for the Ballina, Westport and Castlebar Urban District Council areas and Mayo County Council; the number signed since 1 January 2000; and when he will sign those awaiting approval. [19317/00]

There are nine applications in my Department from local authorities in County Mayo requesting my consent to the compulsory acquisition of sites under the Derelict Sites Act, 1990. The details are as follows.

I have given my decision in respect of seven applications from local authorities in the county since 1 January 2000. The applications listed above are being processed in my Department and I will be giving my decision in those cases as soon as possible.
