Question:

896 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number and categories of crimes against the person for the Dún Laoghaire constituency over the past four years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19755/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda district of Dún Laoghaire consists of four Garda stations, Dún Laoghaire, Dalkey, Kill-o-the-Grange and Cabinteely.

I am further informed that the number of recorded and detected indictable offences against the person for the Garda district of Dún Laoghaire for years 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 as referred to by the Deputy is as follows:
