1059 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the current status of an application by a primary school (details supplied) in County Westmeath for assistance for increased accommodation requirements and improved sewerage facilities; when final approval will be granted to this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20290/00]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods):

Architectural planning for the provision of a new two-classroom school for the school in question is proceeding as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department.

It is not possible to say at this point when construction will commence. The school authorities will be notified of progress as it happens.
