Question:

1131 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position in relation to the extension to Scoil Dara post-primary school, Kilcock, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20663/00]

The management authority of Scoil Dara post-primary school was authorised in March 2000, to proceed with the preparation and submission of stages 4-5 – detail design and bill of quantities – documentation in respect of the proposed extension at the school. My Department awaits this submission.

1132 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if agreement has now been reached between his Department and Kildare County Council in relation to the purchase of a five acre site at Ballymakealy, Celbridge, County Kildare, for a permanent school for the north Kildare national school project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20664/00]

Architectural planning for the development of the national school at Celbridge, County Kildare is progressing satisfactorily and an application for planning permission has been lodged. My Department is currently dealing with Kildare County Council in relation to the question of site acquisition, which will be subject to the granting of planning permission.
