Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Perry – the urgent need for a teacher appointment in Achonry national school, County Sligo; (2) Deputy Neville – the report of the inspector of mental hospitals for the year ending 31 December 1999; (3) Deputy Owen – the provision of medical services in Balbriggan, County Dublin; (4) Deputy Dukes – the serious income losses for hill sheep farmers as a result of the replacement of headage payments by area-based payments; (5) Deputy Sargent – the situation in relation to the provision of medical services in Balbriggan, County Dublin; (6) Deputy Seán Ryan – the new out-of-hours family doctor service in Balbriggan; (7) Deputy Shatter – the action which should be taken on foot of the judgment on Thursday, 5 October 2000, of the European Court on tobacco; (8) Deputy Upton – the urgent need to put in place free primary education for people with a learning disability in light of the ruling by the High Court on the case of an autistic man; (9) Deputy Killeen – the staffing crisis in the Customs National Drugs Team Investigation Bureau and Revenue Mobile Service; (10) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need to provide a training premises for Glin Boxing Club, Coolock, Dublin, 17; (11) Deputy Creed – the urgent necessity for a legal framework at national and EU level to regulate the bio-engineering industry in view of the birth of Adam Nash in America.

The matters raised by Deputies Perry, Neville, Sargent and Seán Ryan have been selected for discussion.
