Vol. 523 No. 3

Written Answers. - Clerical Staff.

Phil Hogan

Question:

56 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he regards it as satisfactory that there is only one secretary available to serve the needs of six sergeants and 25 gardaí in Cahir Garda station, County Tipperary; if it is proposed to allocate additional funds to facilitate the recruitment of additional clerical staff for both this and other Garda areas; and when such action will be taken. [19272/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that it has been agreed that an additional clerical officer will be assigned to Cahir Garda Station in the near future. The question of additional clerical staff for Garda areas generally, is being considered in consultation with the Department of Finance.
