The Health (Community Pharmacy Contractor Agreement) Regulations, 1996, specify the criteria to be used by a chief executive officer of a health board when determining applications for community pharmacy contractor agreements. As the Deputy is aware, appeals have been received under article 10 of the regulations in regard to the decision of the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to refuse an application for a community pharmacy contractor agreement at Knock, County Mayo. The appeals are still under consideration at present and the Deputy will appreciate that it would not be appropriate for me to comment further on the matter at this stage.
