149 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans he has to approve funds for an extension to a sewerage scheme (details supplied) in County Longford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21149/00]
Tender documents for this scheme, recently submitted by Longford County Council for departmental approval, include both the Granardkille and Carra Road sewers.
The Granardkille extension was first mooted in the contract documents for the scheme and was approved by the Department on the basis that the works would be funded by the local authority. The Carra Road sewer was not included in either the preliminary report or in the contract documents for the scheme and no proposals for funding this element of the proposal have been received from the council.
A decision will be made on the tender documents as soon as possible.
