Vol. 523 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Paul McGrath

Question:

241 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the transport grants that may be available for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath with special needs. [21033/00]

My Department has no record of an application for grant aid in respect of the pupil referred to by the Deputy. However, the school transport section of my Department is contacting the family to obtain the details and the Deputy will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.

John Perry

Question:

242 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo and extend the school bus service in view of the fact that she is caring for her elderly parent who has serious medical problems and cannot be left unsupervised; if he will make a favourable decision in the circumstances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21035/00]

A report on the matter has already been requested from Bus Éireann. The Deputy will be informed of the outcome as soon as the report has been received and assessed.
