269 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the steps he will take to ensure that an application from a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath for the maximum home tuition time of ten hours under the ABA system is granted to him as this is deemed necessary from an educational viewpoint; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An allocation of two hours home tuition per week was originally sanctioned by my Department in respect of the child in question.

My Department's inspectorate is currently reviewing the adequacy of this allocation. As soon as the inspectorate has reported, my Department will be in further contact with the child's parents.
