Vol. 523 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

98 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number who have claimed headage and premia payments for 1998 and 1999; the number of these applicants who received a penalty reduction for mistakes in completing their application forms; the total revenue lost to farmers for these mistakes; and the amount of this money that is still under appeal. [21450/00]

It is not possible, in the time available to collate the data requested. I am arranging to have the information sent to the Deputy as soon as possible.

I should mention, however, that penalties are not applied where a farmer makes an obvious error in completing an application form.
