Vol. 523 No. 5

Written Answers. - Health Centres.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

207 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health and Children the current position regarding the proposed extension of the medical centre at Stranacorkra, Derrybeg, County Donegal; the extra accommodation being provided; and when planning permission will be applied for. [21524/00]

The provision and maintenance of health centres in County Donegal is a matter for the North Western Health Board in the first instance.

I have been advised by the North Western Health Board that it is currently drafting the final plan for the proposed extension to the health centre at Stranacorkra and that planning permission will be applied for once this process has been completed. The plans include provision for an extra GP surgery, an extra public health nurse clinic room, alterations to the current waiting room and additional storage space.
