193 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will outline, in regard to secondary schools for the year 2000 or the most recent year for which figures are available, the current standard per capita grant paid to schools and disadvantaged schools respectively and the number of students in schools for which this grant is payable. In the school year 1999-2000, the standard per capita grant of £192 per pupil was paid in respect of 178,151 pupils. Of this total, 41,400 also qualified for an additional disadvantaged per capita grant of £30 per pupil.
