Vol. 524 No. 3

Written Answers. - Coastal Erosion.

David Stanton

Question:

64 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he has yet received the report from Cork County Council with regard to the works required to prevent further erosion at the beach in Youghal, County Cork; when he will take action on this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22627/00]

I am advised by Cork County Council that the study on coastal protection at Youghal, undertaken for the local authority by consulting engineers, is completed and that they expect to be able to forward it to my Department in a matter of weeks.

The options and funding needs for coastal protection works at Youghal will be assessed when the final report is received.
