115 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Defence the number of vacancies for each Civil Service grade in his Department; the additional steps he will take to attract and keep staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22606/00]
The administrative budget allocation for my Department provides for a total of 449 appointments at all grade levels, of which 428.5 are filled. Civil Service staff are recruited centrally through the Office of the Civil Service and Local Appointments Commission.
