Vol. 524 No. 5

Written Answers. - Bilingual Signs.

Enda Kenny

Question:

244 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Finance when all signs in the new Leinster House block will be presented in bilingual fashion as this is a requirement for all public buildings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23060/00]

The majority of signs in LH2000 are bilingual, i.e., directional signs; signs for committee rooms. The signs on individual office doors are predominantly in English. However, should any Member of the Oireachtas or secretary prefer their name in Irish or in both languages the nameplate can be readily altered on request.
