Vol. 524 No. 5

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

Bernard Allen

Question:

259 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive orthodontic treatment from the Southern Health Board in view of the fact that he is almost 16 years of age and has been awaiting treatment from the orthodontic unit at St. Finbarr's Hospital, Douglas Road, County Cork, for four years and has no appointment as yet to receive that treatment. [22903/00]

As the provision of orthodontic services in County Cork is the statutory responsibility of the Southern Health Board I have asked the chief executive officer of that board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
