289 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received a submission from the Southern Health Board for four paediatric posts to be filled as part of a comprehensive strategy for the development of paediatric services in the board's region; and when approval will be given for the filling of those posts. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

A joint submission has been made to my Department by the Southern Health Board and the Mercy Hospital for the development of paediatric services. The issue of posts will be considered as part of the respective agencies competing priorities in 2001.
