371 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the grant aid available from his Department or elsewhere for the establishment and the operation of a civil amenity recycling plant for processing domestic or commercial waste; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Some £100 million in Exchequer-EU funding will be provided under the national development plan to support the implementation of regional waste management plans and the development of waste recovery infrastructure, including civic amenity facilities, provided for under those plans. Details of the proposed grant scheme in respect of capital expenditure on waste recovery infrastructure will be published shortly.
