John V. Farrelly

Question:

452 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the number of clubs and organisations which applied for consideration for lottery funding for the year 2000; the total amount of expenditure envisaged by each applicant; the number of clubs and organisations which were successful and approved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22851/00]

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:

Total number of applications

1,650

Estimated total cost of all projects

£857m

Number of successful applications approved

677

The 2000 sports capital programme grant allocations were announced, less a small number of allocations to particular projects yet to be finalised, in July this year and I am planning for the 2001 programme to be announced in December.
