Question:

462 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science the current status of an application from schools (details supplied) in Dublin 9 for grant aid to refurbish the school hall; and if he will give early approval for upgrading works so that this facility can be brought into use for school and community purposes. [22846/00]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods):

I can confirm that my Department received an application from the schools in question for the refurbishment of the school hall. The application will be processed as quickly as possible having regard to the large volume of such applications being dealt with at present. The schools' authorities will be notified of progress as it happens.
