Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

306 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when land certificates will be provided to the Land Registry Office on a schedule in County Mayo to enable a registration for persons (details supplied) in County Mayo to proceed, in view of the fact the delay is causing hardship and preventing a REP scheme application. [23981/00]

Officials in my Department dealing with this matter have made numerous attempts to obtain the land certificates in question since they were requisitioned from my Department by the Land Registry. The delay in forwarding the certificates is outside the control of my Department and is due to the failure of the registered owners of the folios involved or of the holders of the land certificates involved to deal promptly with requests from my officials to lodge same with my Department.

I assure the Deputy that there will be no delay in lodging the relevant land certificates in the Land Registry once they have been received in my Department.

Question No. 307 withdrawn.
