Michael Ring

Question:

331 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will allow payment of the 1998 sheep headage scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the person made a genuine error; and if he will intervene in this case. [24202/00]

The herd owner lodged an appeal concerning his 1998 sheep headage application. The appeal was examined and the herd owner was notified on 9 February 1999 that the appeal was unsuccessful. This case is currently being examined by the office of the Ombudsman.

Question:

332 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in respect of agricultural buildings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24440/00]

The person named is an applicant under the farm improvement programme. It is expected that a payment for £7,127 in respect of a slatted shed and associated works will issue to him within the next two weeks.
