Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Richard Bruton

Question:

447 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the waiting time in Temple Street Hospital, Dublin 1, for children who need a tonsillectomy to see a consultant following referral by their general practitioner and for a surgical procedure after the consultant has confirmed the need for it. [24022/00]

The responsibility for the provision of services at the Children's Hospital, Temple Street, is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him as a matter of urgency.
