506 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange to expedite a knee operation for a person (details supplied) in County Kerry in view of the fact she is suffering a lot of pain; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24349/00]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

The provisions of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Kerry is the statutory responsibility of the Southern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
