Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Richard Bruton

Question:

508 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that adults seeking to see an ear nose and throat consultant at a hospital (details supplied) in Dublin 7 are getting earliest appointments of April 2002; the number waiting for ear, nose and throat elective surgery in this hospital; the proportion of these who are waiting over one year, and over two years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24372/00]

The responsibility for the provision of services at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. I have, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
