Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Question:

510 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Health and Children if, with regard to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who is continually undergoing treatment for cleft lip and palate and has had surgery cancelled recently and to date has not received a further appointment, he will ensure that an urgent appointment for surgery is now scheduled and adhered to as this situation is causing her grave emotional distress; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24374/00]

The responsibility for the provision of services at St. James's Hospital is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. I have, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Question No. 511 taken with Question No. 451.

Question No. 512 taken with Question No. 182.
