Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Community Support Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

519 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the community services available from the Western Health Board; the reason there is three patients from the Western Health Board area in the national rehabilitation hospital, County Dublin who cannot go home due to the lack of community services, particularly when other people need those beds; if he will have investigations made into this serious situation in view of the shortage of beds. [24383/00]

The provision of community rehabilitation services for people from the western region is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board, with a request that she examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
