583 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has discontinued the publication of the annual survey of long-term care facilities; when the last survey was published; and when he will next produce this important survey. [24628/00]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

Data on long-stay activity is being continually collected by the Department. A report was published in June 1998 which gave details of 1996 activity. Another reporting detailing activity in 1997 and 1998 is in the process of being put together and is due for publication shortly.
