591 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for a 12 week waiting list for an ultrasound appointment in the case of a person (details supplied) at St. Lukes Hospital, County Kilkenny within the South Eastern Health Board area; his views on this case; and the action he will take to reduce the waiting lists. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in Co Kilkenny is the statutory responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
