Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Public Information Campaigns.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

600 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on whether it is preferable that public information campaigns on health issues should be fronted by people with a medical rather than a political background. [24678/00]

It is the policy of my Department to utilise the most appropriate and effective means available to inform the public and raise awareness about health issues. This will obviously involve adopting different approaches depending on the subject matter and the target audience. If the Deputy has a particular concern in mind, I will be pleased to arrange for officials of my Department to discuss the matter with him.

Question No. 601 taken with Question No. 118.
