629 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will allocate additional funds to the Midland Health Board to ensure that the effect of increased fuel costs for heating and transportation will not reduce the services available to the sick and elderly. [24850/00]

Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children (Dr. Moffatt):

I understand from the Midland Health Board that while fuel and oil costs have risen, the costs can be met by the board from within existing resources and that service levels will not be affected.
