692 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will introduce legislation to enhance the rights of tenants within the private rented sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19295/00]
The report of the commission on the private rented residential sector contains a number of recommendations requiring legislation, including amendments to the landlord and tenant code, which is under the aegis of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform. I propose to bring implementation proposals to Government in the very near future.
