Written Answers. - EU Directives.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

857 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will detail, from the time of the present Dáil, the financial penalties imposed on the Government resulting from the failure of his Department to comply with EU directives; and the legal proceedings that are now pending by the EU as a result of the failure of his Department to comply with EU directives. [24148/00]

During the life of the current Dáil, the EU has not imposed any financial penalties as a result of the failure of my Department to comply with EU Directives. In addition there are no legal proceedings pending as a result of the failure of my Department to comply with such directives.
