John Bruton

Question:

879 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has satisfied himself with the level of third level education facilities in County Meath; if any further developments in the county are planned; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24260/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 878 and 879 together.

I have not received any proposals regarding the development of Warrenstown agricultural college, County Meath, as a third level institution.

The needs of County Meath, as well as other areas, will be considered in the light of my plans to strengthen the education base in regions which are not well served at present and to establish effective links with higher and further education institutions.
