918 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department will extend the school bus route to include 30 families living at Fier, Ballinakill, County Laois, who attend school in Castlecomer, County Kilkenny; and if his Department will consider the hardship caused by the current arrangements and extend the service immediately in view of the fact that a report on this matter has been completed for some time. Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods):

A report has been received in my Department regarding an extension of the school bus service in question. However, further information has had to be requested. I have asked that the matter be concluded as soon as possible and the Deputy informed of the outcome.
