Vol. 525 No. 3

Written Answers. - Accident and Emergency Services.

Question:

212 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of incidents which were reported to Dublin hospitals following fireworks injuries registered in accident and emergency departments in Dublin hospitals; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25086/00]

The information requested by the Deputy is not routinely collected by my Department. Responsibility for the provision of acute hospital services in the eastern region now rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter and to furnish the information requested by the Deputy directly to her.
