213 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a hip operation in view of the fact that this young man is a farmer who lives alone and he desperately needs the operation to be carried out. [25087/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

214 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon and have her called for treatment in Sligo General Hospital, County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25088/00]
