Question:117 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the Carra Road and Granardkille areas will be included in the Granard sewerage scheme. [20785/00]
Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.
A proposal to extend the Granard sewerage scheme to Granardkille was first mooted in the contract documents for this scheme. The proposal was approved by my Department on the basis that the works would be funded by the local authority.
The Carra Road sewer was not included in either the preliminary report or the contract documents for the Granard scheme as submitted to and approved by my Department. It has, however, now been included by the council in the tender documents for the overall scheme but the council has not advanced any proposals for funding this element. The tender documents are currently under consideration in the Department.
