122 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has yet submitted legislative proposals to Government to provide for the licensing or registration of builders and building contractors; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24760/00]

I have not submitted legislative proposals to Government along the lines referred to by the Deputy. I intend to make a relevant announcement on this subject before the end of the year.
