144 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has received an application from Meath County Council and Kells Urban District Council regarding proposals for the upgrading of the swimming pool in Kells, County Meath; when his Department will approve this; when work will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Meath County Council submitted documentation in relation to the proposed redevelopment of Trim swimming pool, to my Department on 13 September last. The council was advised that as the closing date for receipt of proposals under the current swimming pool programme was 31 July 2000, further consideration would not be given to the proposal until the programme is re-opened.
My Department will be in contact with all local authorities when proposals are being accepted under the programme again.
