Vol. 525 No. 4

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

82 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a decision will be given on an appeal made by a person (details supplied) in County Kerry in 1998; the reason for the delay in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25262/00]

The appeal in question, against penalties amounting to 45%, was lodged with my Department in February 1999. The appeal was forwarded to the Department's regional office for investigation and examination and will now be fully considered by the REPS appeals committee at the earliest possible date. The person named will be informed directly of the outcome.
