Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Naturalisation Applications.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

363 Ms Coughlan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a certificate of naturalisation will be given to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal. [25816/00]

Due to the various procedures involved in processing an application for a certificate of naturalisation in respect of a person of full age, together with the high number of applications being received, the average processing time is approximately two and a half years. In this instance, although the applicant's case is in the final stages of the process, it is likely to be early in the new year before it is fully completed.

As soon as full consideration has been given to this application, I will advise both the applicant and the Deputy of my decision.
