Vol. 526 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

60 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 and 2000 cattle and sheep headage, particularly as he was told at a recent inspection that everything was all right. [26115/00]

The 2000 area aid application for the person named was selected for inspection in accordance with EU regulations. The results of this inspection are expected to be returned to the area aid unit within the next ten days and will then be processed without delay. Any payments due will then be made as soon as possible. The person named has still not responded to queries from the area aid unit in regard to his 1998 area aid application and consequently no 1998 area aid related payments can issue. The results of the 2000 area aid inspection will also be examined with a view to finalising the processing of the 1998 area aid application of the person named.
