249 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will report on delays of over seven hours to have an ECG in the casualty Department of University College Hospital, County Galway; the plans he has to shorten the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26345/00]

The provision of medical treatment at University College Hospital, Galway is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this issue and reply directly to the Deputy.
