Vol. 526 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Michael Ring

Question:

258 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a cataract operation in view of the fact that he has already waited 12 months to be called and as both eyes are now affected. [26398/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy.
