Vol. 526 No. 3

Written Answers. - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

Phil Hogan

Question:

270 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will examine as a matter of urgency an application made from the South Eastern Health Board for the provision of central heating under the housing aid for the elderly scheme for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is returning to his home from hospital; if he will arrange the sanction of this assistance as soon as is practical; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26590/00]

: As the Deputy is aware, the housing aid scheme for the elderly is operated in the Kilkenny area by the South Eastern Health Board on behalf of the Department of the Environment and Local Government.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to examine this case and respond directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
